Meransen in summer makes one think of blossoming fields and scenic views of the entire Pustertal Valley. Over 300 huts and shelters serve local delicacies, based on fresh, seasonal ingredients from the area. The Gitschberg Jochtal holiday region is a paradise for hikers and foodies alike!

With its mountains and magnificent lakes, exploring the terrain around Meransen leaves one spoiled for choice. Activity options include hiking, mountain biking and paragliding. The Gitschberg with its panoramic summit is a particularly popular destination. The cableway from Meransen quickly reaches an altitude of 2,500 m a.s.l., making it the ideal starting point for numerous magnificent hikes in the heart of nature. Next to the mountain station is a viewing platform from which to enjoy a spectacular 360° view of over 500 summits, ranging from the Sexten Dolomites to the Ötztal Alps.
